We are very proud to be supporting the Martin House Hospice for Children and Young People, an organisation very close to us at Bingley SC, who provide family-led care for children with life shortening conditions. It is a place where children, young people and their families can go to stay from time to time along their QR Code for Bingleys' Fundraising page for Martin House Childrens' Hospicejourney and find support, rest and practical help.

Primary Schools' Gala - Saturday 2nd March 2024

With a new format for 2024, this year will see a one night only straight final event with no semi-finals, for up to 18 local primary schools. The gala will be held at Shipley Pool, starts at 5.45pm and aims to finish for 8.30pm.

There will be 3 heats in each event:

Other Details

  • Swimmers may only swim 2 individual events plus the team events.
  • The Freestyle Team is any stroke. The Breaststroke Team is breaststroke only.
  • One length races will start from the diving pool end and the team races from the learner pool end.
  • In the interests of safety there will be no diving at any time during the gala. All starts will be in the water, including changeovers in the team events.
  • The School Mixed Relay Championship is separate and has a final for the fastest 6 schools in the Relay Championship heats.
  • The allocation of points will be 18 points for the fastest swimmer/team over the 3 heats, 17 points for the second fastest etc (excluding the Relay Championship heats).
  • Medals will be presented to the swimmers of schools in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
  • A trophy is presented to the winning school (events 2 to 17) and for the School Mixed Relay Championship.
