Welfare Officer

As a club, Bingley ASC maintains the role of Child Welfare Officer for the swimming club. Their job is to look after the best interests of swimmers and to ensure that Bingley Amateur Swimming Club is a safe environment, where swimming can be enjoyed.

If you have any concerns relating to any aspect of Bingley Amateur Swimming Club both in or out of the water, please do not hesitate to contact our Welfare Officer. All concerns will be taken seriously and dealt with appropriately.

What does the Welfare Officer do?

The Welfare officer promotes the welfare of members of the Club in accordance with Swim England guidelines on Child Safeguarding. They:

  • Ensure that the Register of Teachers and Coaches forms are complete;
  • Keep a copy of the Swim England Safeguarding Guidelines and ensure that any new initiatives or concerns from Swim England are communicated;
  • Ensure that Safeguarding is an item on Club committee meeting agendas;
  • Are responsible for the training of all relevant people with regard to Safeguarding.
